I’m pleased to finally be able to share the premiere of HBO’s Monsters of God will take place at SXSW this week. Director Eric Goode (Tiger King, Chimp Crazy), Showrunner Jeremy McBride, Writer Tom Petersen, A24, and a huge team, including EPs Josh Safdie, Ronnie Bronstein, Eli Bush, Harry Go, Emily Osborne, Nicole Stott, Kevin Turen, Nancy Abraham, Lisa Heller, an Tina Nguyen, did an incredible and relentless job bringing the world described in The Lizard King to life.
Characters appear in the series I was sure had to be dead, some for good reason, but they’re all here, and it’s an incredible tale. Director Eric Goode brings an unmatched passion reptiles and a tireless approach to filmmaking to tell the story his own way. For those who enjoyed the book, I think you’ll love this documentary.
